Opened: January 1, 1971
Dickens Athletic Center is a 2,500 seat multi-purpose arena in Chicago, Illinois. It was home to the Chicago State University Cougars basketball teams until late 2006, when it was replaced by the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center. It currently hosts the school's volleyball program.

The Jacoby D. Dickens Center (JDC), formerly known as the CSU Athletic Building, was named after the late Jacoby D. Dickens. It was constructed in 1971 and was home of the Chicago State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics for 36 years, before moving into the Emil and Patricia Jones Convocation Center (JCC) which was built in 2007.

The JDC was previously upgraded in 2013 with banners and a refinished and repainted floor to go along with state-of-the-art lighting which was installed in 2012. The multi-use facility also houses classrooms for the Chicago State University Health, Recreation, and Physical Education Department, which accommodate students enrolled in physical education, recreation, sports management and physical therapy courses.

The JDC is equipped with up to 2,500 seats for spectators, three swimming pools, an indoor track, a fitness center, eight locker rooms, three classrooms, a dance studio, a training room and a multi-purpose gymnasium.
